Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, confident, entrepreneurial leader to join our growing and well-established firm. The AI Services Practice Leader will start and grow a professional services consulting practice focused on AI. The ideal candidate has a consulting background with a focus on data, analytics and artificial intelligence, has built, grown and maintained consulting practices nationally and has the knowledge and confidence to build a practice in a collaborative way and measure its success.

Responsibilities

  • Solution / Offer Construction & Management: Bringing your knowledge and experience with selling AI-based services and working collaboratively with others at the firm, develop/refine existing Wolf AI-based consulting offers: assess demand of the market, growth rates, competitive offers and pricing, Wolf’s current clients and prospective growth and develop and document offers and associated go-to-market materials that may include pricing models, offer spec sheets, marketing materials and client-facing collateral. Develop and maintain deliverables / deliverable guides associated with the offer(s).
  • Sales / Pre-Sales: Evaluate the market for AI services in the context of Wolf’s current and potential client base. Work with niche leaders, Wolf’s Chief Growth Officer, and Business Development team to actively socialize, sell and close AI Services to Wolf existing clients as well as new logos. Establish, maintain and grow a pipeline of consulting engagements.
  • Strategic & Business Acumen:
    • Practice Development: Ability to build and scale AI service offerings, define go-to-market strategies, and develop reusable assets.
    • Client Advisory: Strong consulting background—able to assess client readiness, craft roadmaps, and communicate complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of how AI applies in specific domains (e.g., finance, healthcare, manufacturing).
  • Practice Management & Operations: Develop plans to grow and operate a consulting practice focused on AI services delivery. Create staffing models and hiring plans to profitably grow and run this practice. Develop/maintain processes and controls focused on bill rates, utilization, gross profit and other operational metrics. Manage practice appropriately according to Wolf & Co. guidelines.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Team Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams including roles such as data scientists, data engineers, consultants, and project managers.
    • Stakeholder Management: Experience engaging C-suite executives and building trust with internal and external clients.
    • Talent Development: Mentoring team members and supporting upskilling in AI tools and approaches.
    • Change Management: focus on both clients and internal resources as they adopt AI tools and practices, ensuring organizational readiness and successful adoption.
  • Resource Evaluation & Oversight: Develop practice growth plans that are both reasonable and designed to take advantage of the opportunity residing in Wolf’s client-base and niche focus. Make hiring recommendations / decisions to both profitably grow the practice and to invest in talent for the long-term. Oversee and coach this team. Serve as a thought leader within Wolf by producing white papers, presenting at industry events, and contributing to internal enablement and training around AI services.
  • AI Market Knowledge: Bring to bear existing knowledge of AI tools, technologies and use-cases (how AI is applied in various industries). The ideal candidate will have experience successfully defining and measuring value from AI solutions, evaluating & deploying those solutions and selling and delivering services related to AI to paying clients across multiple industries. Knowledge of and experience with a go-to-market motion related to selling AI services is critical as is having the ability to discuss and describe AI internally and with clients in a detailed, but easy to understand way.
  • AI Tools & Technologies: Working knowledge of traditional AI tools and applications (e.g., regression analysis, predictive analytics, machine learning, IoT, etc.) as well as newer tools and techniques (e.g., genAI, agentic AI, quantum computing) is expected along with the ability to evaluate what technology makes sense for clients and why.
  • Value Engineering / Business Case Construction: Candidate will be responsible for creating and communicating the business value to a client/prospect behind an AI engagement. Candidate will be able to effectively create a construct (spreadsheet, presentation, etc.) to accurately and believably communicate the value inherent in AI to a client/prospect.
  • Billable Work: Both sell and deliver billable work. Expectation would be that this candidate personally deliver engagements until such time as a team can be established and trained at which point oversight only would be required. At scale, an expected target utilization of somewhere between 20-40% would be anticipated.

Key Success Measures:

  • Pipeline growth and closed AI engagements
  • Revenue and gross margin of the AI practice
  • Client satisfaction and successful delivery of AI engagements\Talent acquisition and retention within the practice
  • Internal enablement and cross-service collaboration

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in management consulting with a minimum of two years in a practice leadership capacity
  • Strong knowledge of AI, analytics and data management/quality as it relates to those fields
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Collaborative leadership style
  • Demonstrated experience launching and scaling a consulting offering or practice area from inception to $10MM+ in annual revenue preferred
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Experience with multiple industries, deep financial services experience a plus
  • Experience working with AI solutions across multiple cloud platforms preferred (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

The salary range for this position is $225,000 - $250,000 


Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.  In addition to base pay, you may be eligible to participate in our performance-based incentive compensation or sales commission plans.
